Skipjack Elsie Peggy Joyce was reportedly built originally as a two-masted pleasure boat in the 1950s, builder unknown. She may have been copied from the skipjack Carrie Price from Holland Island. Previous names have been Abbie Ann and Little Mamie (perhaps a reference to Skipjack Mamie M. Mister?)

While her history is little known, she was apparently rebuilt in 2005, and the Coast Guard gives that as her build date.

In 2015, Benny and Alex Horseman bought her for $4,000 from someone in Maine and brought her down from New Jersey to Madison, Maryland. They installed hydraulic dredges and put her to work dredging.

Current status of the boat is unclear. She was seen under repair in Crocheron in 2017 and was spotted in 2023 on land in the Toddville area beside the Horsemans' other skipjack, Modern Day. Both boats reportedly had been dredging from there and the Fishing Creek area.
